Thanksgiving Tablescape + Recipe
Updated: Apr 2, 2020
We can’t believe that the holidays are upon us, and that Thanksgiving will be here before we know it. When we think about Thanksgiving we think about the food and the table; where we get to share the feast with friends and family. Here are some steps to help you decorate your table for Thanksgiving.
Step 1: Start with the base: This could be a table cloth, table runner/scarf or placemats to add softening.
Step 2: Use Greenery: Greenery down the center of the table adds a natural texture to the table. We like to use Christmas garland and add in some fall colors, like bronze leaves or magnolia leaves to make it fall, and then easy to transition into Christmas.
Step 3: The Centerpiece: There are endless possibilities of what you can do for centerpieces. You can add seasonal items like pumpkins, persimmons, squash, bittersweet or other seasonal produce. Mix in different textures as well to create a layered and balanced table. Remember to keep it low, because no one likes to look around a high centerpiece when you are trying to talk to someone across the table.
Step 4: Add Candlelight: Adding candlelight to the table creates warmth and ambiance. When using candles use them in varying heights and zig-zag them down the table so people can see one another across the table and have conversation.
Now that you have your table all set it’s time for the food! If you are looking for a new seasonal flavor side dish to add to your table this year, we have a special treat for you! Below is a recipe for Butternut Squash Risotto. Let us know if you make it and what you think, we would love to know!
